Bumbershoot is one of the biggest festivals on the West coast of America - its been going for 38 years and is a big deal for people form miles around...
This year the line up was heavy in deed with Hip Hop dominating the main stage on the final day..
One of my favourite groups of all time - The Wu tang clan were closing the festival - we had to go along.....
We got down there about 7 ish with the help of some free passes from my pal Brian (props my man!) so just sauntered in and headed to the football stadium that was hostin the big acts that night...
We passed hundreds of stalls and small stages on route...... - thiswas a huge festival with thousands in attendance,,,
Prior to Wu Tang - on stage was Lupe Fiasco. We watched him from the stands and he put on an OKish show...
Lupe frustrates..... he has all the talent in the world and the potential to be mega but he needs to sort it out... his live shows are really disjointed and the crowd gets bored easily.....
He played his new single with a hook from chris martin from cold play - man that ws awful......
his attempts at crowd participation flopped to..... - I love his last LP but a Lupe live show is a bit on the wack side....
We then made the best use of our back stage passes (again props to Brian) to check out Wu....
Truely a mad experience hangin back stage with Wu and their bugged out entourage.....
Wu hit the stage and we followed straight after them (really!) and watched from stage right.....
The crowd had been waiting all day for Wu and they go mad love from a mainly white teenage crowd who would have been mostly in romper suits when the 36 chambers dropped 15 years ago....
Alas - a couple of missing Wu'ers... Ghost face and Gza didnt make the trip but Cappadona was there so in the grand scheme of things a good wu attendance...
They blazed through their hits one after another and the crowd was into it non stop...
They have so many bug tunes - a truly dope show followed..
I cant say it was the most technically adept show ive seen (they looked like they hadnt rehearsed together in 10 years) but their energy levels were high - personified by Method Man who kept the whole thing together perfectly.
He has SO much energy and kept the crowd hyped throughout a one and half hour show... - stage diving on many occassion and lobbing out sweaty doo-rags...
As the other wu'ers consumed more and more dope they hung back on speakers but Method led from the front - an incredible show man!!

All the classics were dropped - would have been nice to have more solo Raekwon but he has happy to just be up there and occasionally do his spots...
A great view 2 foot from the Wu - made this truly memorable.... own first time seeing them in the flesh....
Classic Clan!!!

Sounds incredible! I've always been apprehensive about seeing Wu due to bad reviews about poor performances or no shows but this sounds amazing.
Lupe doesn't really do anything for me and what's with Chris Martin from Coldplay being on lots of hip hop records? He should form a group with Play and DJ Premier... "The Chris Martins"
Back stage passes too - wow!
