Prince at the O2
Review by Taylor Westcoatt
Me and the BrainDoctor rolled in style on the Honda Scooter to the O2. Nearly died. Thankfully our reception at the O2 VIP Entrance was pleasant, smooth, and reassuring. The Arena is beautiful (on the inside) and gives you that great uplifting feeling of something good is about to happen when you walk in. Whisked into the glass-walled, couch-filled, queueless-bars waiting area, we immediately chewed a couple of drink tokens off our wristbands and began strolling through the layout. A bit of Kung-pao chicken here, a small plate of Tuscan salame and cheese there, and sure, pour me another cold one miss it was nice. OK, enough luxury, time to HIT THE SHOW! On the way out, a neighboring VIP-room exiter exlclaimed, OH NO, WE HAVE TO GO IN THE CHAV-ZONE!! Now now it wasnt too bad. We were in our seats in a couple of minutes, warming up in the excited crowd to see this true legend perform for the 9th of 21 times here in London this month. Could he do it? Did he know enough songs? Did he have enough songs?
No disappointment was forthcoming for the following 2 hours of non-stop lights and smoke and dancing. With every ounce of style, smoothness, flair, Prince proceeded to have
basically
sex, with all 16,000 people there. The twins he has dancing for him helped also. Darling Nicki, Little Red Corvette, Lets Go Crazy, Purple Rain, and the list goes on and on. Perhaps an even better way to look at it was, he didnt have time to play (in this show at least) When Doves Cry, Diamonds & Pearls, 1999, and a whole bunch more favourites. Hes one of the few artists, imho, who can play a whole show, where everyone knows every song, and still leave a huge slice of his repertoire for the next gig. This man is a true entertainer.

such an amazing show, something truly magical, he knew how to play with the audience and for those two hours of non stop class he had us all spellbound with his talent, the musicianship of both him and his band was faultless, the only negative were the "warm up act" who were dire and sent hundreds of people running for the bars! another high point? the twins! utterly brilliant!

i have been fascinated by PRINCE for the last 18years.
third time at one of PRINCE's concert. this time was the most awesome.
The atmosphere was amazing. With so many hits; he made the audience DELIRIOUS. he makes you feel that he is performing just for you. his sex rappor and body language make you want to get SOFT AND WET. you have to go just 4 THE TEARS IN YOUR EYES.
nobody sat in seats and it appears that no two concerts are the same. if u r an o2 customer take ur fone and try a PURPLE RAIN or CREAM cocktail.and wear purple!
u need to brush up on his old hits, but if ur a fan and ADORE him as much as everyone at the arena there is every chance that u will b SATISFIED. if u need a brush up try the cd ULTIMATE
From my brothers point of view; the twins are certainly THE BEAUTIFUL ONES. u may buy a ticket and make urself broke, but believe me when i say MONEY DOESNT MATTER 2 NIGHT (u will need a lot of spending money).
the concert proved that PRINCE is not just a PRINCE, he is GOD. this concert is set to create lots of CONTROVERSY.
All i can say is you SEXY M.F, NOTHING COMPARES 2U, and what i would do if I WAS YOUR GIRLFRIEND.
Because it was so EXTRAORDINARY i am going again. here's a hint; dont be fooled WHEN THE LIGHTS GO DOWN for the first time.
i will remember this 4 THE REST OF MY LIFE, as will u.

My friend and I went to see Prince on the 17th, and I have to say it was fantastic. As an 'Old Skool' Prince fan I too was in such awe from this god of music. He played nearly all track from Purple Rain, and did a medley halfway through which covered everything else I needed to hear from him. He finished with Purple Rain and I just stood stunned to believe I was here watching him perform this - yes you have to be there to understand the bit about the tears you shed. I will remember this for the rest of my life...it now feels complete!

I fell in love with Prince when I saw Purple Rain. I have now seen him live 4 times. The 02 being the fouth time I clapped all the way through until my hands were numb. I have seen Justin four times and Lemar well I lost count. However no one compares to Prince he was sheer class. When he was blowing kisses I blew them back as I was truly greteful to be in his presence. Wonder if he is looking for a wife I am his girl. Did'nt need my camera as I will never forget Sept 1st one of the best nights of my life. Prince I salute you XXXXX

I went to see him on Saturday the 1st of September and it was the best thing I have ever witnessed! A great show-man from start to finish! The only thing that bothered me was people left before the lights came back on! Yet he did three encores! They missed some of his best hits! Absolutely amazing!
TIP: Don't leave before the lights come back on!

I'm a 47 year old mother of two strapping 20+ year old lads. My 25 year old had never been to a live music gig before, he was truly blown away. I have to admit to having tears in my eyes, I have been waiting a long time for this. I was completely awestruck. The man is a true legend, I danced my socks off, I sung at the top of my voice. It was truly a night I (nor my son) will ever forget.
Thanks Prince, Love You Loads xxx

Went to see Prince last night and was far from disappointed. It wasn't the first time I had seen my Idol... He was amazing, he was a true show man who owned the stage... I truely honestly believe I will never see or hear an artist as good as Prince...

What did i knew about prince. Well nothing actually, except that he is an artist with a capital A! Ok i admit i know his hits like Purple Rain but don't know the other songs very well. However the peeps i went with are Prince fans!!! 16th of September was the first time i saw this legend and g@ddamn. What a show, it was from the first to the last minute excellent. I think this would be mine best concert ever compared to other artists. I danced on prince and i wouldn't believe myself if i said to myself you are gonna dance on prince some day. Damn the concert was over before i knew it...
